Cranberry Sauce

I like making my own cranberry sauce. I’ve tried buying canned and it just isn’t the same. I make the cranberry sauce with the recipe right off the bag. I usually do 3-4 bags of cranberries because you can freeze the leftover sauce and use it throughout the year when fresh cranberries are not available.

Ingredients for One Bag of Cranberries:

  • 1 12-ounce bag of fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water

Instructions:

  1. Pour the water, sugar and cranberries into a sauce pan over medium heat.
  2. Lightly simmer/boil until the juice starts to thicken and the cranberries start to pop and open up. This takes about 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let it sit. You can put it right into the refrigerator as well. Just remove from refrigerator an hour or two before serving to serve at room temperature.
